Attica, Indiana is a family-oriented and friendly city located along the Wabash River just 27 miles southwest of Lafayette. The major highways, US 41, IN 28 and IN 55 all find their way through the center of our community. The city was platted in 1825 and elected its first mayor in 1866. During the Wabash and Erie Canal era, many buildings were built that added to the architecture of the city’s homes and downtown buildings, many of which can still be seen today. The city of 3,245 friendly people is an Indiana Main Street Community and is proud of its four historic register districts: Downtown Historic District, Brady Street Historic District, Main Street Historic District and the Old East Side Historic District.
