Board of Works & Safety – December 15, 2020

The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, December 15th, 2020, at 5:00 P.M. in the City Council Room. The meeting was presented via Zoom.

Present was Board Member, Andy Smart and Chris Gayler, also present, Mayor Duane Roderick

Minutes from the previous meeting:

Gayler made a motion to approve the minutes from the December 1st , 2020 meeting, Smart seconded, all were in favor, and the motion passed.

Citizens petitions:

There were none.

Department Head Reports:

Director of Public Works, Eric Swank

Swank had nothing to report.

Police Chief, Ed Durnil

Nothing to report

Attica Fire Chief, Mike Little,

Nothing to report 

Building Commissioner, Jeff Pycke,

Nothing to report

Economic Development Director, Rod Bannon, was not present.

New Business:

Utility Credits:

Gayler made a motion to approve the utility credits, Smart seconded, all were in favor, motion passed.

Utility Disconnects:

No one present.

Gayler made a motion to approve the presented disconnects, Smart seconded, all were in favor, motion passed.

Miscellaneous Business:

Claims:

The claims were presented by Mayor Roderick, Gayler made a motion to approve claims, Smart seconded.  All were in favor and the motion passed.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. After the meeting Mayor Roderick was contacted by Bob Askren and Caleb Askren asking why they could not get on the call. They asked for a refund for Caleb because they felt the city did a poor job notifying everyone on disconnects. Mayor Roderick contacted Mr. Smart and Mr Gayler and it was agreed to refund the $75. Mayor Roderick did not see them to have them on the call. This also happened to Council person Carnahan.

The next Board of Works meeting will be held on Tuesday January 5th at 5:00pm, in person, in the City Council meeting room.

Smart made a motion to adjourn and Gayler 2nd, all were in favor, motion passed.
