The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, August 18th, 2020, at 5:00 P.M. in the City Council Room.
Present was Board Member, Andy Smart and Chris Gayler, also, present, Mayor Duane Roderick, and Clerk-Treasurer Joanne Broadwater.
Minutes from the previous meeting:
Smart made a motion to approve the minutes from the August 4th, 2020 meeting, Gayler seconded, all were in favor, and the motion passed.
There were none.
Department Head Reports:
Director of Public Works, Eric Swank asked the rate to be set for city cost of demolition projects.
The board discussed the cost of the equipment and manpower and decided that $200.00 per hour will be charged to the property owners if the city provides these services.
Police Chief, Ed Durnil reported he will pick up the second Durango tomorrow and Officer Smyth is in his third week at the police academy.
Chief Durnil had nothing further to report.
Attica Fire Chief, Mike Little, was not present.
Building Commissioner, Jeff Pycke, was not present.
Mayor Roderick stated he received an email from Attorney Redlin regarding 204 Columbia Street owned by Gloria Hoffa, stating the property owner is willing to donate the property to the City of Attica so the city could clean the property up from the house fire.
Utility credits were presented, BOW member Smart motioned to approve the presented credits and Gayler 2nd, all were in favor motion passed.
The claims were presented by Mayor Roderick, Gayler made a motion to approve claims, Smart seconded. All were in favor and the motion passed.
Smart made a motion to adjourn and Gayler 2nd, all were in favor, motion passed.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next Board of Works meeting will be held on Tuesday September 1st, 2020 at 5:00pm, in person, in the City Council meeting room.
