The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, December 17th, 2019, at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room.
Present was Board Member, Andy Smart. Also, present: Board Member Chris Gayler, and Mayor, Duane Roderick.
Minutes from the previous meeting:
Smart made a motion to approve the minutes from December 3rd meeting. Gayler seconded. All were in favor and the motion passed.
There were none.
Department Head Reports:
Director of Public Works, Eric Swank, was present. He informed the board that there was a leak at the high school pool, and we may want to consider giving a credit.
Police Chief, Ed Durnil, was present. He gave praise to Dave and Paula Clark for the success of the Christmas parade.
Attica Fire Chief, Mike Little, was not present.
Building Commissioner, Jeff Pycke, was present. He is trying to contact who is responsible for the property at 407 South Brady Street
Bids were taken for trash service. Bids were received from Trash Kans LLC out of Lafayette, IN and Republic Services out of Danville Illinois. After review there was a large difference in cost with Trash Kans LLC being the low bidder. Mr. Smart made a motion to accept the contract from Trash Kans LLC pending approval from our city attorney to look the contract over to make sure everything was in order. Mr. Gayler seconded, and motion passed.
Utility credits were presented. The Board of Works moved to approve all the credit requests. Motion Smart. Second by Gayler. All were in favor and the motion passed.
The claims were presented. Gayler made a motion to approve Smart seconded. All were in favor and the motion passed.
Smart thanked Susan Stoll for her years of service. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned, the next Board of Works meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 7th , 2020 at 4:30 pm.
