Board of Works & Safety – July 16, 2019

The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, July 16th , 2019, at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room.

Present were Board Members, Andy Smart and Mayor Roderick

Minutes from the previous meeting:

Smart made a motion to approve the minutes for the July 2nd meeting.  Roderick made a second to the motion.  All were in favor and the motion passed.

Citizens petitions:

Citizen Cecelia Hartman of 202 West Street complained of the residence next to her that had burned. She said that it smells bad and there are several cats that were there. Mr. Pyke and Mr. Durnil will investigate the matter.

Department Head Reports:

Director of Public Works, Eric Swank, was present. He said he was looking to replace a couple of bridges on the city’s trails.  He was working on getting prices and was contacting Bob Shepherd.

Interim Police Chief, Ed Durnil, was present.  He had nothing to report.

Attica Fire Chief, Mike Little, was present. He had nothing to report

Building Commissioner, Jeff Pycke, was present.  He reported that 917 South Perry was deemed to be safe following up on a complaint from the renter.

Unfinished Business:

There was no unfinished business

New Business:

Utility credits were presented by Roderick.  Smart made a motion to approve.  Roderick made a second to the motion.  All were in favor and the motion passed.

Smart reported that he wanted the public to be aware that the pool is not being closed. The pool liners need to be replaced.

Claims:

The claims were presented by Roderick.  Smart made a motion to approve. Roderick seconded.  All were in favor and the motion passed.

Miscellaneous Business:

There was no miscellaneous business.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned, the next Board of Works meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 at 4:30 pm.
