Board of Works & Safety – June 25, 2019

The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room.

Present were Board Members, Chris Gayler and Andy Smart, Mayor Roderick and Clerk -Treasurer, Susan Stoll.

Citizens petitions

There were no citizen’s petitions to be heard.

Department Head Reports

No department head reports were scheduled for this special meeting.

Unfinished Business

After review of all the bids received on July 18, HWC advised the city to accept the bids for applications 4564 in the amount of $245,490.20 and 4565 in the amount of $126,475.15 from Milestone Contractors, L.P. Mr. Gayler made a motion to accept both bids. Smart seconded.  All were in favor and the motion passed.  All contracts were signed by the Mayor and Board of Works members.

Application 4566 was estimated to cost $23,352.00 which would have required a $5,838 local match.  The only bidder, Pavement Solutions, bid the project for $29,687.02.  This would require the city to pay an additional $6,335.02 in local funds to be able to do the project.  It was decided to not accept the bid and consider delaying this project until a future time.


There were no claims presented at this meeting.

Miscellaneous Business

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned, the next Board of Works meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 4:30 pm.
