Date and Time: 5:00 PM, April 9, 2019
Present: Board President Andy Smart, members Barbara Foster, Brian Duncan, Mike Nicolas. Also former Mayor Robert Shepherd, City Clerk-Treasurer Susan Stoll, and Attica Main Street President Lexxi Spragg Haddock.
Location: Courtroom, Attica City Building.
President Smart called the meeting to order.
Mike Nicolas was asked to read the minutes of the previous meeting and did so.
Andy Smart reported on tennis / pickleball court conditions. The contractors Smart tried to contact are doing court refinishing are very busy and most did not bother to call back. Leslie Coatings/Indianapolis, which has refinished the Attica High School and Harrison Hills Country Club courts, did say they could do the job this year. They would level any low spots and install a three-coating non-skid surface for $13,914. The earliest they are available is in July. Smart asked Clerk-Treasurer Stoll if this expenditure could be paid in this years’ budget. She stated that if this amount was spent, it might be a good idea to wait until after the Park Program, pool, and mowing are mostly completed before another large expenditure is made this year but that it is something that could be done. Barb Foster said she would check on getting a quote from a vendor used for McCall Park in Lafayette. In the meantime, Andy Smart said he would call Leslie Coatings to get the McDonald Park court on their schedule in case this vendor ends up being the best choice.
It was reported that someone had been hit with a frisbee in Ravine Park, re-enforcing that the boards desire to re-position the frisbee golf goals away from the playground areas.
Lexxi Haddock reminded everyone of the round table meeting of community organizations on April 18 at 6:00 PM in the high school cafeteria. Brian Duncan reported the list of organizations has grown to over 70.
Mike said he would meet with the Mayor about the roof leak and other items needing taken care of before the pool opening.
Meeting adjourned at 6:00 PM.
