The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room.
Present was Mayor Roderick and Board Members Mr. Smart and Mr. Gayler. Also present were Susan Stoll, Clerk Treasurer, and City Attorney, Thomas P. O’Connor.
Upon Motion duly made by Mr. Smart, Mr. Gayler seconded to approve the minutes from the previous Board of Works Meeting for January 8, 2019. All were in favor and the motion passed.
There were no citizen’s petitions to be heard.
Department Head Reports:
Ron Jean, Street and Water Supervisor was present.
Police Chief Bob Cole was present. He reported they had received 6 applications for the full-time police officer. Applications will be accepted until Friday, January 18. He reported that his staff is on emergency call status for the upcoming bad weather/storm that is predicted for the weekend.
Mr. Little, Fire Chief, was present. He had nothing to report
Jeff Pycke, Building Commissioner, was present and had nothing to report.
Utility credits were presented by Mrs. Stoll. Mr. Smart made a motion to approve all requests. Mr. Gayler made a second to the motion. All were in favor and the motion passed.
Pay Application #10 to Thieneman Construction for $363,531.49 was presented for approval. Mr. Smart made a motion to approve, Mr. Gayler seconded, all were in favor.
Upon Motion duly made and carried, the claims, as presented, were approved.
There will be a benefit held for Bob Scherer on January 26, 2019 at the Fountain County EMS from 7-10 am.
Mrs. Stoll request that when referring to properties, please use the actual numerical address and not the name of the owner or previous owner. This will ensure the minutes accurately reflect the property being discussed.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:39 pm, the next Board of Works meeting will be held on February 5, 2019 at 4:30 pm.
