The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room.
Present was Mayor Roderick and Board Members Mr. Smart and Mr. Gayler. Also present was Susan Stoll, Clerk-Treasurer and City Attorney, Thomas P. O’Connor.
Upon Motion duly made, seconded and adopted, minutes from the previous Board of Works Meeting for November 6, 2018 were approved as written.
There were no citizen’s petitions to be heard.
Department Head Reports
Ron Jean, Street and Water Supervisor, was on vacation.
Police Chief Bob Cole reported that the replacement Durango police vehicle would be delivered in the next month or two.
Mr. Little was not present but Mr. Beedle reported that the Fire Department had completed its pump and hose inspections. Many of the hoses need to be replaced, at an estimated cost of $10,000.00; Grant money will be sought.
Jeff Pyke, the Building Commissioner, reported that the owners of 705 S. Union St. were making repairs and that he has not heard from the owners of the Attica Hotel on North Perry St.
There was no unfinished business to discuss.
In new business, the Board asked that parking on the north side of U.S. Highways 41/55 (Jackson St.) near the intersection of Brady Street be restricted for safety reasons.
In addition, the 5 Utility credits presented were approved.
Upon Motion duly made and carried, the claims, as presented were approved.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 P.M. and the next Board of Works meeting will be held on December 4, 2018 at 4:30 pm.
