Board of Works & Safety – June 4, 2013

The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room. Present were Mayor, Robert Shepherd, City Clerk, Susan Stoll and City Attorney, Tom O’Connor.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

No quorum present. Minutes were not approved or passed.

CITIZENS PETITIONS

There were no citizens petitions to be presented to the Board.

DEPARTMENT HEADS REPORTS

Mr. Jean reported they are working on cleaning up the debris from the storm.

Chief Cole reported that Kyle Askren had an accident which totaled his police vehicle. The canine will be moved into the Chevy Tahoe and Officer Askren is soliciting private donations for a new cage to fit in this vehicle.

Mr. O’Farrell reported that there has been a delay and the aerial is not going to be out of the body shop until June 19. He is interested in purchasing 4 more sets of fire gear at about $2000 each. He is looking into a 2 month trial of a new pager system for all of the first responders.

Mr. Dismore reported about above ground swimming pools. No permit is needed from the city but individuals should be following state requirements for the installation of the pool. Rick White may need a variance for his proposed construction. 606 Summit is a problem property but he has been unable to find out who owns that property in order to do anything about it.
