The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room. Present were Mayor, Robert Shepherd, City Clerk, Susan Stoll and Board Members, Duane Roderick and Dave Huckleberry. Also present was City Attorney, Tom O’Connor.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the regular session held on April 16, 2013 were approved as prepared on a motion by Dave Huckleberry, seconded by Mayor Shepherd.
There were no citizens petitions to be presented to the Board.
DEPARTMENT HEADS REPORTS
Chief Cole introduced himself giving his professional and personal background.
Mr. O’Farrell spoke about checking all city buildings for smoke detectors & fire extinguishers. He is still gathering cost information on equipment that would be used in confined spaces.
Mr. Dismore gave a report on the list of properties which are slated to be demolished.
There was no unfinished business presented.
There was no new business presented.
Claims dated May 7, 2013 for $191,407.37, as shown by the Allowance of Accounts Payable Vouchers, were presented to the board. Mr. Roderick made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Huckleberry.
Chief Cole reported that he wants to sell our two 1986 Chevy Blazers which sit unused in our lot. He mentioned that the Fountain County Sheriff’s Department is interested in purchasing them. Mr. Huckleberry made a motion to sell them to the Fountain County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Roderick seconded the motion.
