Board of Works & Safety – March 4, 2013

The Board of Works and Safety for the City of Attica met, pursuant to Public Notice, on Wednesday, March 4 at 4:30 P.M. in the City Council Room. Present were Mayor, Robert Shepherd, City Clerk, Susan Stoll and Board Member, Duane Roderick. Also present was City Attorney, Tom O’Connor.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the regular session held on February 19, 2013 were approved as prepared on a motion by Duane Roderick, seconded by Mayor Shepherd.

CITIZENS PETITIONS

There were no citizens petitions to be presented to the Board.

DEPARTMENT HEADS REPORTS

Mr. O’Farrell reported that there was some damage to our aerial fire truck at the fire on Washington St. A Williamsport fire truck backed into our aerial. He reported on the progress of installing smoke detector(s) in the fire house and will be inspecting all city buildings to see if they need them.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

There was no unfinished business presented.

NEW BUSINESS

Mrs. Stoll announced that the City Wide Clean Up dates are May 11 & 18. There will once again be a dumpster down by recycling for electronics.

CLAIMS

Claims dated on March 4, 2013 for $ 144,832.93, as shown by the Allowance of Accounts Payable Vouchers, were presented to the board. Mr. Roderick made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mayor Shepherd.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS

There was no miscellaneous business to discuss.

There being no further business to be brought before the board; the meeting was adjourned.
